What Trucks would you like to see replicated
 

There is an interesting article on Hemmings Blog about the passage of FAST.

With the recent passage of H.R. 22, also known as the FAST Act, replica car makers now have a clear path forward for building turnkey cars, which means we’ll likely see plenty of new Cobras, De Loreans, Deuces, Lotus Sevens and other usual suspects hit the market.

What trucks would you care to see?

I prefer the '57 Cameo, she was just beautiful.

The first ones I think you will see are complete 69 Camaro's with crate LS 3's and 70 Cuda's with crate Hemi's. The body's are available now and crate engine support from the factories is there. I think it will take a while for the trucks to make it.

I think they are already reproducing the cabs and beds for 47-55, and 55-59, the cameo fiberglass wouldn't be too much of a stretch since it is just bolted to a step bed.....

I would assume that the next repro cabs would be 67-72.

Boy that's a tough call for me. I remember when the Arntz (sp) Cobra hit the scene, I thought that was so cool. But now, years later, all the Cobra replicas kind of made Cobras blasé for me. Same with all the 32 Fords.

But sometimes I think it would be cool to have one of my old muscle cars from back in the day back.

Far as trucks I really like the late 20's early 30's Chevys

Hmmmmm....

I think maybe the trusty old dodge power wagons.
Jeep m17 or FC trucks.
It's hard for me to choose because old trucks are just really cool. Scout terras are kin of neat blocky 70's styling. Starski and Hutch of the 4wd world.

My dream is a 59 Chevy 4wd fleet side so a turn key of that might be nice as long as it was simple (not a fan of computerized anything but FI and modern drivetrain is a nice luxury I a 4wd.)

I would love to see a '70 Dodge Power Wagon or even a '48 PW redone. My grandfather had a beautiful '38 International 1 ton truck that would be great to see with a modern drivetrain as well. 35 MPH top speed just won't cut it now days!

The "358" changed as they changed which motor was going in, but basically a revamped, stretched, modernized 49ish Chevy.

Be ready to open your wallet. This has already been done for years, to an extent, just before you had to have a "donor VIN tag" ;) wink wink...

This won't happen. There are already companies using the dynacorn bodies to do full Mustangs... and the price tag is 100K and up. 40K is a pipe dream.

The body panels alone are around $15-20K. Brand new drivetrain and computer? Likely 20-25K+. Assembly, bodywork, and paint? Another 15K+ Frame/Suspension 5K+ Wheels/tires 3K. Interior? 5-10K with assembly... then ALL the little odds and ends - bumpers, glass, rubber...

Before you know it you have an 80-100K "Brand new" old car.

All that said... I would love a brand new 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 drop top (well, it would have to have a modern LS per the law, but I want it to look like a 400).

Agreed. It would have relatively easy for them to use the xj stuff on a unit body FC per the concept. All the chryco jeep concepts are kinda cool but the FC really takes the cake for me.

Of course after thinking about this thread for awhile I would also like to see a mid 70's Plymouth fury two door with turn signals on the top of the fenders. My grandmother had one. Largest two door car I ever rode in besides her 69 eldo.

Anyways my vote stands for any year power wagon and the jeep FC. 1 ton models with 4wd and srw of course. Actually I think I'll add a 59 apache 60 while I'm here :)
