6cyl to 350 6 months later!
Ok been gone awhile just wanted relay. how it worked out. and that would be great. have a plain old 83 c10 with a tired 250 six.
Found a good 4 bolt main from a 76 c 10. standard dish pistons 20 over comp cam 265 grind with 1200 t0 5500 range Boat cam heavy duty valve spring balanced, Wieland duel plane the 180 buck holly 4 barrel. factory refurb on Ebay stock exhaust humps cleaned out duel 2.5 with glass packs. I have a 465 with really tall gears 273 most likely. Man I have never had some thing work out so good. seriously set distributor in gave it a nudge for advance bam 12 degrees set idle that's it. checked mileage on hwy 13.5 no cruise. Start out in 2nd shift at 35 run easily up 85 in 3rd it will pull from 25 in 3rd solid pull up to 85 more if wanted cruzes at 55 to way faster than I want to in 4th, Only issues intake oil leak my fault not enough goo in the back. and no heat this fall moved heater hose return to radiator. 3500 miles awesome so far! Cant get a picture to attach check out old post do you have to use photo hosting site? up dated windows 10? |

Looks very nice! I'd put a 14" air cleaner on it though, but thats just me.
I built a truck, but just the opposite of what you did....pulled the 350/4spd out and put in a 292/th350..that was one of my all time favorite trucks...19mpg! |

Yes have put a14 in Air cleaner that was one I had around . that's a tank type block heater. a must to get the 6 started when cold. this thing pops right off. haven't used yet.
