3rd gear lags please help 71 GMC k10

my truck is lagging in 3rd gear. 1st is fine and never used as its so low why bother. 2nd is great and pulls hard. then i shift into third and i can watch the speedo start to drop. any help would be great. thanx :gmc2:

Most 3 speeds the 2nd to 3rd shift is a pretty wide gap. You say it's a K10... lifted with oversized tires? That will just make it worse. What power plant? What gear ratios front and rear?

motor 350 ...tires 35" gears? everything is new
