BW ST-10 in 71 c-10

I have a chance to get a hold of a st-10 for 400 bucks with a bell housing. I am hopefully going to be putting my pickup back together and want to ditch the th-350 auto. It has a mild built 350-punched .060, 280 comp, 9.5:1 compression, cast heads with 2.02-1.60 valves, weiand single plane with a 750 holley on top. Ive read mixed reviews on the bw st-10 but it is a 904 iron case but I believe it also has the 3.42 first gear. I'm sure this has been discussed before. Just looking for opinions. Its cheap enough. Also going to metion that I have a pretty heavy foot and that's why I'm also looking for a different rear axle option haha. I'm a newbie to this forum and appreciate any advice. thanks in advance
Jon

Your thread has 37 views and no replies. Maybe others on here are like me and don't have a clue what a bw st-10 is. I've never heard of one.... A little more explanation might make a difference.

borg-warner super t-10 4 speed manual transmission. its out of a 1981 car, guy didn't know what model. That's what the case numbers put it at anyway. From what I understand the nodular iron case did not start till 1979 and some people say if your gonna get one to get one with the iron case that is cast number 904.

Call and ask the experts.

IIRC the 3.42 gear tranny came in the lower hp cars like the monza or vega.
Weaker first gear.
The better stronger ones are the 2.88 versions.
