Shock suggestions - Bilstein 4600s?

I'm going to replace my rear axle pretty soon (4.10 14FF now, swapping to 3.73 locker 14FF, might also go discs). I wouldn't be surprised if my shocks are original. I'll also be replacing all the bushings in the area (fronts will get done later).

Anyone have experience with Bilstein 4600s? Some friends have suggested Bilstein and these appear to be quality shocks. I'm open to other shocks around the same price as well.

I'd also appreciate any info about a disc swap if anyone has experience. Might be nice to have ebrake but I can live without it.

I used the 5100 on my Titan on all 4 corners. Would definitely agree that they are top quality.

i put the summit racing brand shocks on my C10, and I've liked them enough. My mother's Chevy Trailblazer had factory bilsteins, and they wore out within about 5 years of freeway driving.. i put bilsteins on an old BMW and they felt worn out right out of the box. Based on my experience, bilstein is over rated.

My impression is that the 5100s are for lifted, I'll be at stock ride height (or at least very close).

I had bilsteins on a volvo 850 wagon a few years ago and loved the ride. I put the 4600s on my 87 v2500 along with new heavy duty leaf springs all around. The suspension is stiff and the Bilsteins give it a noticeably more contolled ride than with the old shocks I put on from Sears in about 1998.
