FINDER'S FEE $$: 4WD hubcaps

1 Attachment(s)
Still looking for 3/4 ton 4x4 caps like this one (cap in pic is 1/2 ton). These came on 1961 Chevy, and on 1962-1963 GMC. Will buy singles or pairs, new/NOS or used. Can be nub style or clip style. A finder's fee goes to whoever points me in the right direction. Thanks

For what its worth , 1963 Chevy truck parts book states 1961 and 1962 4X4 hubcap is 3781652 for series 20 painted hubcap. It does not list a chrome cap for K20 just painted. Hope this helps.

Considering the rarity of these caps, it would seem a fairly easy task to acquire some standard steel painted caps, cut the correct size hole, then take a small semi-circular bite out of the face where the portion of letters remain. Weld in a filler, grind smooth, and finally chrome plate or repaint.
That or wait forever for the real deal. I'm sure there's an NOS set somewhere, probably languishing in somebody's garage right next to my Suburban middle floor mat. Lol.

It seems like the 3/4 ton caps are the problem. I've managed to find several 1960 and 1961 1/2 ton caps, but no trace of 3/4 ton yet..

Yep I'm planning on making some temporary caps while I keep hunting for the real deal... I'm sure there's a few out there collecting dust on someone's shelf.
