How to find first registration date?
 

Is there any way to find the first registration date on a 1976 C10?
Only the year is listed on the registration certificate.

Most of them will list it on the title (in the USA)

I can only see the "YR 1ST SOLD" field.
It's a California title, if that matters.

I'd be surprised if there was an easy way to find out. CA DMV won't release much info about previous owners (or owners of other vehicles, someone used info to find/kill someone so they stopped).

What do you need it for?

In Denmark we are able to get historically correct licence plates until mid-76, so I need to know (and be able to prove) if my 76' C10 qualifies.
If I can't provide proof it will by default be assigned 31. dec. as date of first registration and I'll have stick these turds on my otherwise original truck...

I found the DMV's "Vehicle Record Request" service (https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/online/vrr) but can't create an account as I'm not a US citizen.
Apparently can't send them an e-mail either... I wonder why they even have a "Contact US" menu :rolleyes:
