1962 Hydraulic Clutch Bleed
 

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew what the throw(in inches) was for a hydraulic clutch on a 1962 C10? I have been bleeding my brakes and clutch after my conversion to disc brakes. I get approximately 1" of travel and I am not sure what the throw is supposed to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It,s been a long time since I had the 61 but I never liked that hyd. clutch. I do remember that you don't get much throw. the rod won,t move any farther than the slave cly. bore? I just can't remember the length now, but it ain,t much.

I don't know what the bore size is on that clutch master, but it likely isn't big enough. Wilwood does not make that style of master cylinder in a 1" bore, which is what you need. All of my brake booster with hydraulic clutch kits used with the original '60-'62 slave cylinder are supplied with a 1" bore master.

Captainfab, I purchased one of your kits back in late 2010, that came with the same Wilwood (.75) style reservoir. I just read thru your links to see you offered both a .75 and 1" inch style about a year later.

My clutch slave cylinder is stock 61 GMC; do I need to upgrade? I do recall having to play with the adjustment quite a bit. Does going to a 1" style help with this adjustment and will that bracket accept the new larger reservoir?

Yes with the first few of those kits I did supply a .75" clutch master, But after a couple issues with the clutch not releasing fully, I changed to sending a 1" bore master for those using the original '60-'62 slave cylinder. Send me a PM and I can get you setup with the correct parts.
