Firewall heater box
Has anyone out there in truck land bought and installed the new non AC metal firewall heater box that GMC Pauls is selling? I'm curious as to the fit and finish of this box. My fiberglass box has seen better days, gotta get a replacement.

I'd be interested to know too

That would make 3 of us, the picture on the website does not do it justice.

Re: Firewall heater box
If Paul is selling it, I wouldn't worry in the least. Paul doesn't sell junk.

We may be the first to try and review... :)

Re: Firewall heater box
Received an email from GMC Pauls on the box. He said the fit and finish was fine, comes without internal parts or gaskets. EDP coated so it'll need paint. I'm going to order one and the gasket set that goes with it.

I received the heater box from GMC Pauls and am very happy with the quality, however it is actually a fiberglass reproduction of the original. I emailed them about that and they have since added the fiberglass wording to their description. Good people to deal with!

Re: Firewall heater box
I thought they were made out of plastic. Your original doesn't look to be in too bad a shape except for that broken tab

Re: Firewall heater box
That looks really nice. Good to see the internal parts with it. Mine was in pretty good shape yet, so I cleaned, painted and reused.

Re: Firewall heater box
Yeah, I could probably save the original, I doubt that broken tab would make it fall off the firewall. LOL But I just got tired of scrubbing, patching, and derusting parts. This will give me a boost to keep the project rolling along.
