Yet another R12 to R134 Question
Yes, I've read all the threads and I'm probably slow on the uptake. Does anyone have a simple bullet point or numbered list of what changes must take place and what tools you need to make the R12 to R134 AC conversion?
IE: - Replace POA - Replace compressor Etc,etc,etc? Thanks, |

I did a write up a while ago here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=478564 Post #4 in that thread is a loose description of the steps I took. Post #8 has a parts list of what you'll need. I hope this helps. The AC Kits link for how to adjust your POA is no longer there. TO adjust your POA you have the system open and the stuff on the evaporator all put together. Put your AC gauges on the port on the POA. Blow 60 PSI of air from your air compressor into the expansion valve. You should see I think 28 PSI on the AC gauge. You need to adjust the POA to read I think 26.5 PSI for R134a. If you look in one end of the POA you'll see a nut in there. That is what you turn to change the reading on the gauge. I apologize that I don't remember those readings. I did that operation a very long time ago. |

Pretty good detailed writeup^^^ If your poa valve doesn't work and you don't want to go to a cycling switch, I can rebuild it for you.
