How much difference between k5 & c10 frame in 1972

I have 1972 C10 and a friend of mine has a 4x4 K5. I want a short bed K10 and he wants a 2wd k5. How much difference in the frame is there? I would love to swap frames but I didn't know if it was practical. Sure would make it a lot cheaper than building/buying a k10 frame. Thanks in advance for the info. 1st pic is my truck 2nd is what I hope it eventually looks like.

Swapping trucks would be easier....;-)

Your right about that... wish it was that easy. He won't part with his k5 and it seems that buying a 1972 K10 in the shape on my C10 is about a $7,000 difference in value. We own a body shop and labor/skill isn't the issue just don't want to have 100 hours in fab work plus doing the change over.

Take parts off of one truck put them on the other. Then have rear driveshafts made for both.

There are a lot of differences with the main one being:
Blazer has a 105 in. Wheelbase
Truck has a 115 in. Wheelbase

I thought the Blazers were 104, or at least that's what the spid says. I could be wrong though.
