Wow that Sucks, I am sorry that happened but now the hard part starts to happen, very little will be offered but do not give in to the first rounds of negotiations.

Thanks, I have several receipts on upgrades. Not expecting a million dollars but hopefully I get fair offer.

I don't know all but i do know wrecks I have been rebuilding them for a living since 1987. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that you frame is NOT bent. I would suspect a trailing arm or broken tie bolt[ that is the most common thing to happen when the rear gets moved]and possibly a Panhard bar being bent it isn't very sturdy under there. I don't know if that is good news to you or not but I believe an couple of bedsides and some light rear end suspension work could put you back on the right path. From my dealings with the insurance companies they will at least [in most cases] try to be fair. What ticks them off more than anything as soon as the introductions are over people tell them what they have to do. That just sets a bad tone, you wouldn't want anyone telling you how to do your gig or what your gonna "have" to do, would you? I [just my opinion] makes them get their back up.

Don't give in to insurance, I recently hit a deer and the ins wanted to total my truck, the final repairs were $7500. It took a month to get them to pay but they did after they looked up other trucks similar to mine and found they sold for double the repairs. Allstate even paid my $500 deductible for having to wait a month.

In all fairness Airspeed, I believe your truck was in much better shape to start with, and the frame wasn't bent. I suspect this truck is totaled.

That is a bummer OP. It depends on what you're insured for. Grumpy recently posted it's important to note the replacement value and the actual value per your policy. Take a look at this, because without knowing any better, they sound like the same thing: http://www.eqgroup.com/ACV_explained.htm

At the end of the day, the ideal situation is they settle fairly and I would ask they sell the truck back to you at a reasonable price, say $500ish. Then you can rebuild the truck or more reasonably part it out.

Yes the insurance companies like to ding us. How do I know I am still arguing with them 2 1/2 years later.

Guy wasted his rig on my rear bumper...they offered me a 1000 bucks for my bent frame rig.

I am about to go to war with them big time.

What insurance company do you have? What type of policy and coverage? Agreed value, stated value, or neither? Your policy will tell you where things will start.
