Do you paint a new core supports or is the finish it comes with ok?

I have one that I'm gonna paint with regular base coat black but the clear is a low gloss clear that you mix with regular clear to bring up the gloss amount where you want it to be. That is a little extreme but that truck is gonna deserve it as much work that has gone in to it. But you could spray it with some blitz black [John Deere] in a spray bomb. That would look real good and last a long time,plus it is real close to the color it should be. Jim

You should paint it, it comes primed and will rust after a while.

Thanks. I thought is was just primer but it looks pretty good so I started to doubt myself. I will paint it.

I painted mine with Eastwood's Satin Chassis Black. It gives it a 60/70% gloss. The stuff is very durable. Scuff the EDP black that comes on it with a scotchbrite pad for best adhesion.

I bought it from Kenny's Truck Parts or Lonestar Parts in Canton Tx. I have not installed it yet. It is at the painter.
