68 Stepper Stance Help!

1 Attachment(s)
I'm looking at 3/5 springs, shocks, and an adjustable trackbar/panhard bar to install on my truck. Feel free to throw any recommendations out there but I'm leaning towards CPP stuff. I understand that the ride could suffer and may have alignment issues, but I'm not willing to do spindles and do the spindles/5 lug/power brake conversion just yet especially when I'm only driving the truck 3000-5000 miles a year.

At the same time I lower it, I'm also looking to purchase 2 Wheel Vintques 15x8s steelies for the rear, and use them in conjunction with the front original 15x6s.

I REALLY want a stance like the green 68 pictured below. Does anyone happen to know whose truck this is? I'd like to confirm the rears are 265/70/15s and try and get some other options/opinions for front tire sizes.

Thanks!

That truck is either bagged or a real low static drop.
My guess would be a 5.5/7 drop.

That photo of the green truck is like a 5/7 or bagged.

The green truck looks like Jeff's(farmtruck) truck. It's a 5-lug swap with 5" springs, blocks and custom made shock mounts.

I hated driving my truck with the 4 wheel drum setup. It was not safe the way the clowns around here drive. With the ECE conversion and good tires it stops HARD. Best mod ever.

First mod I did on my '70 GMC C2500 as well. WAY under braked for pulling a trailer. Best mod I did.

My '69 short step is dropped with ECE 2.5" spindles and 2" springs. Rear is leaf and is flipped with a DJM kit. Total drop is 4.5"/7". I went to 17" wheels on mine and it gives so many more tire choices.

Once again, Internet Opinion, do it once and do it right just once. Currently my brakes are still manually assisted and aren't an issue. I have a booster but just haven't felt the urge to put it on yet.

Yeah I understand completely!!

I'm hoping to start my full restoration in about a year and a half. The truck needs tires desperately because they're weather-rotted bad and unsafe. As of now, I'd just like to improve the stance a little bit and have it on a new set of tires. It has coils on all 4 and I can lower it for between $300-400 in parts. I'd rather not pull the trigger and go the spindle route/power brake route just yet until I rebuild the entire truck! I drive my truck about 3,000 miles a year so it shouldn't be too bad.

Here is a pic of my truck. It is a 3/5 drop. We used aftermarket drop springs to do it
