Original paint scheme on '74 Cheyenne
Hi everyone,
My newly aquired '74 Cheyenne had been repainted twice. Originally blue, then red, and currently is white. Today I had to pull the bed off to replace 1 of the fuel lines that developed a leak. Wheel the bed was off, I could see white shields with blue. My questions are, can this year & model come equipt factory two-tone with or without side trim with the two-tone colors? I really like the original blue, and would like to eventually have it repainted the original colors. But would like to add the side trim if it originally came with it, or would it look fine two-tone without the side trim? Thanks, Dave |

Here's the pic of the drivers side rear of the cab.

Re: Original paint scheme on '74 Cheyenne
My 74 is a Cheyenne and it had same colours with full trim The only place the two tone was exposed was the 1" on each side at the top of the windshield and along the top of the door in the jamb to the cab trim under the window. Your roof may not have been white I'd say the holes were filled? The trim didn't go around the back of the cab so the two tone break is seen there

I'd say somebody removed the trim on one of the past paint jobs.

Re: Original paint scheme on '74 Cheyenne
truck would have had trim if it was blue/white like that from GM.

Thanks for the replies guys. I can see a few of the trim holes underneath the truck, and can see worm shaped bondo coming out them. Truck had been painted twice since original paint, under the hood & interior are still blue.
Thanks again, Dave |
