Carpet type oppinions wanted
 

Ok guys/gals, what type of replacement carpet would you go with: Jute padding or mass backing? And why?

I always lay a full layer of jute before installing a mass backed carpet . Always take your new carpet out of the shipping box as soon as it arrives and lay it out to decrease the shipping wrinkles before installing . In warm weather lay it out in the sun for awhile to help with box wrinkles or just find somewhere in your house to spread it out if your days/weeks,or months before install. Here is a good explanation on the difference between the lower cost jute back VS mass backed carpets . I've always bought ACC brand carpets and full rubber mats :chevy:

lay down some Dyamat with jute. ACC is the best

x3 for ACC - very nice stuff. I like dynamat & dynaliner as well. Maybe call ACC and see what they say? They are very pleasant to deal with on the phone.

I purchased ACC mass backed 80/20 carpet from Rock Auto (best price I found) and am very pleased. It included a jute pad.
