My 68 "Bessie" Underwent Surgery Today!
2 Attachment(s)
What I thought was a 2 hour job ended up taking 5 hours...
I managed to break a shock mount stud but luckily had an extra, and the u bolts took over an hour to remove!! I guess you just never know what you'll run into working on these old trucks  I used Western Chassis 4/6 coils and shocks, and an ECE panhard bar. The first picture is when I purchased the truck. Before/After The tire sizes are 225/70/15 & 235/75/15 I'm hoping the fronts will settle a little more! I guess she's not too bad for a little shop truck! :metal: |

As far as the notch is concerned, I didn't notch it. I have read saying that 5 and 6 inch rear drops need a notch etc, but if you're not hauling very much heavy stuff in the bed, you will be good. I removed the factory bump stops, currently I don't have any bumpstops on it at least right now. There is maybe 4 or 5 inches of travel before the axle would ever touch the frame. I'm really not worried about it; my buddy that weighs 200 lbs was jumping on the rear bumper and we could never make the axles hit the frame. |
