Would this work on the GMC models too? My stock GM one was some sort of pot metal. Guessing the replacements went plastic?

Yes this would work on your GMC covering yrs 64-66. Not sure what year there may have been a change. Regardless, it will work.

Cool - do you have a picture of the other side? Is there a horn contant/bearing type setup on the other end?

It looks like this will not work for me. The one I need has the harness on the other side of the pivot I believe.

What year is your truck and does it have the original column in it

65 and yes original but it's gmc which looks to take a different switch than same year Chevy

There may be part number cast into the original piece. Lmk if you see it. I can research it from there.

I confirmed that the 64-66 Chevy will not fit the 64-66 GMC trucks. The 64-66 GMC trucks actually use the 63 Chevy part. Thanks anyway and best luck with the sale - good price! My aftermarket was the same price as you're asking for NOS!
