New winch bumper installed
5 Attachment(s)
I ordered this a month ago from Chassis Unlimited, I was hesitant because of the price and not being able to see one before pulling the trigger. However, once it arrived and I installed it I am more than satisfied. It is a nice piece, the bends, welds, fit and finish are as advertised. Pretty easy installation, six bolts, nuts. and 12 washers. Drilling the holes in the frame rails was the most difficult part and then it just slides on! Next, one for the rear.

Re: New winch bumper installed
Are there any other supports from the ends of the bumper to the frame like the OEM bumper? Seems like there is a lot of unsupported length outside the frame rails that could be easily pushed into the body upon contact with a solid object.

Re: New winch bumper installed
Hi,
No, no supports like OEM bumper. Essentially this bumper has a box that slides back on the frame rails with notches to get as much depth as possible, you can see them on the bumper when it's laying on the cart before mounting. I was concerned initially about the unsupported weight "hanging" out and causing flexing or stressing the rails, but once I got it mounted and secured it's pretty solid. Yes, the possibility exists for a front collision causing frame damage, but I can live with that possibility, I'm not really getting very aggressive in this Blazer. They're not cheap, $750 for the front, $725 for the rear, but free shipping helps a lot. Couple times a year they have sales, I waited and got this front for $600. Mike |

I like it. I want to make something similar. I cut my front fenders in anticipation of a custom tube bumper. The bottom of the fender is cut parallel to the bottom of the grille.

I added a pair of KC Dayliters, the mount holes were a little undersized and needed to be drilled out, otherwise plug and play!
