cowl induction hood

Any thoughts on a source for a reasonable deal? I have a '68 project and the hood is good except prior owner cut out the center hump and welded in a piece of flat metal with poor bondo job on top to make hood flat for some reason. If repair runs too much, I will replace the hood with a cowl induction.

I would just buy a steel 2 or 4" cowl hood, it's what I am doing anyway. They even have that new style one looks pretty good.

Hey guys be careful with the 67-68 hoods, cowl or original style. What I've read is that every single one of them are pretty badly manufactured and have terrible fitment issues. Do a search and you'll see what I am talking about. The hood to fender gaps are inconsistent and need quite a bit of finessing to get them to look right. Have pics on my main pc that went down so I can't show you guys any, just do a search before you buy one.

I'm sure others will comment on them as well.

I'm looking into the 72 ones. They are everywhere.

I've not heard anything bad on the 69-72 aftermarket hoods, just the 67-68 hoods.

I know someone why happens to have a 67-68 aftermarket cowl hood for sale. Still in the box, you can buy it pretty cheap compared to new and not have to pay shipping. He is in the Central Alabama area.. PM me, I'll get you his number. His name is Kevin.

Nothing wrong with it .. he just had to sell the truck before he completed the project.

I believe GMCpaul quit selling the aftermarket 67-68 hoods because they are so bad.
