Updating control arm shafts.

So, question, because i'm not too clear on what I need to do, or if this is possible.

When did they upper control arm shafts on the 1/2 tons go to a bushing, instead of the metal nut on my 64?

AND,

Can I retrofit a rubber bushing shaft kit using my 64 control arms?

Re: Updating control arm shafts.

Changed in '73 because the rubber bushing are quieter and make for a more "plush" ride.

No you cannot retrofit rubber bushing into the original arms. You would have to replace the arms with '73 and later.
