Question on insuring 72 Shop truck Help
I have a question on insuring my 1972 Cheyenne super (pic in avatar).
How or who do I use to insure it? Will they insure a shop truck? I am having a lot of work done to it. right now I am in it about 10-11k. and still have a few things I want done to it. I guess im just thinking to the average insurance agency it just looks like and old beater. If I tell them I have xx amount in it are they gonna laugh at me? |
Re: Question on insuring 72 Shop truck Help
Most insurance companies have a collector car type insurance and more than a few want to see the truck finished before they will write a policy on it . start making phone calls to different insurers and explain your situation ,KEEP every single receipt along the way and use the search engine above for more info many guys have been down the same road .:chevy:

Do you keep it in a locked garage and not use it as a daily driver ? If so Hagerty will insure it ,if it is daily driven they will not .

Re: Question on insuring 72 Shop truck Help
Hagerty didn't make me have it locked up I have in a attached car port with no mileage restrictions at $406 a year. They simply asked me what I would do with the truck and I told them drive the wheels off of it. The girl laughed asked me to send in pictures and that was it.

Harpie, if you haven't, you should check your contract. Locked garage storage is a common part of collector car insurance

Re: Question on insuring 72 Shop truck Help
My 67 is insured through Grundy for around $120 a year, 10k agreed value. They also know that it is currently in restoration, and there is no mileage limit. Hagerty will also do a policy for during restoration. But you must keep receipts at least until it is done, then redo the policy as a finished vehicle.
