Return vs. return less fuel rail
My 6.0 has the old style fuel rail with the return line. Is it better to use the returnless fuel rail and corvette filter/regulator or my original setup. I have access to the later style if needed.
I just finished up my frame and I ready to start my LSx swap. I got my new spectra GM11C gas tank and it doesn't have the baffle. It is the same as my original tank (GM11B). So I'm a lilttle bummed out. |
Re: Return vs. return less fuel rail
I capped my return line on the fuel rail of my 6.0 and am running the vette filter/reg..no issues and works great.

What did you do with the vacuum diaphragm and vacuum line?

Re: Return vs. return less fuel rail
If it's in place go return. Less wear on pump bullheading less heating the fuel. Better down the road if you want more hp. All big fuel systems use a return.

That is what I was thinking too. The new tank isn't stamped with the part number like my GM11B tank is. It only gas a small sticker on it with GM11A on it. Have no idea what GM11A tank is for. |

Re: Return vs. return less fuel rail
I would use the return if you have it. A $10 fuel filter is way better when it comes time to change it than a $60 filter that can have a bad regulator straight out of the box. Also vacuum referenced fuel pressure versus a set pressure, so you have to tune for it. I'll never understand peoples infatuation with the returnless rail.....

Re: Return vs. return less fuel rail
For the record, my replacement GM11C gas tank came in today. This one has the pan inside the tank and the correct 1 5/8" filler neck.
