New to board and searching for a burb

Hi there,

Have been following the threads/builds for a couple of weeks now. Decided to jump in. Hoping for a little help finding a Suburban. Looking for a 67-72 K20. The closer to So Cal the better. Plan to build/buy a daily driver, something comfortable (Vortec, AC, etc.) Like to keep as original looking as possible with modern drivability..ish..
I am fairly flexible on the truck I buy. Possibly a 2wd and could swap newer drive train and convert to 4wd.
Feel free to suggest options.

Thanks,
-Mike

Craigslist is your friend. Just a brief search in the LA basin turned up 3 or 4 for sale now. Whats your budget? I found these three in about 10 min. close to you. Good Luck and welcome aboard!

Ranger Danger,

Thank you for the reply! I have been looking on craigslist. I saw two of the first three you mentioned and spoke with the third. The truck in the first ad you referenced was cut, rusty, and basically a mess. After speaking with the guy from the second ad, I didn't think the truck was right for the price. Saw the third one. It was a good builder, but thought the price was too high for what was there.
I have not seen the white one yet.
Not really sure on budget yet. Its more of a value thing with me. I like to be in everything I buy at the right price. When i first started looking for one of these, I of coarse missed a couple of very good candidates. Now that I am ready to pull the trigger, seems like I keep missing the good ones
This all started because there is a nice one basically in my back yard. Its on a neighbors property right over the fence from my shop. I have been trying to buy it for many years. No luck, it just sits there and he won't sell. So finally gave up and decided to find another one.
Maybe my expectations are too high. I have only seen a couple so far. Unless I find one that is a 3/4 ton 4wd in decent shape to start with I think I should be able to get one in the 3-5K range. We'll see how it goes.

-Mike
