Quick disconnect, quick question?

I am hooking up my new fuel system for 5.3 LS in my
53 pickup. I am using the corvette style filter regulator
with quick disconnects on all three lines.

The fittings that came with the filter kit included the two
female ( 5/16 and 3/8 ) and one male 3/8 fitting.

while the two female fittings slid on and locked with a
high degree of confidence, the male slides into the filter
regulator much easier, and has about 1/4 inch of free play
in and out after passing the clips that hold it in. It also does
not have the internal plastic lock collars like the other ends
use. Just metal spring clip type fingers internally.

It won't pull out past the clips, but it has more free play than
I expected. Is that normal?

The other fittings have very little free play after they click in.

Thanks

Well,
I guess I'll wait and call technical support at
Russell on Monday.

I think I'll make an adapter to my air tank and put about
80 PSI to the fuel line to pressure check it. I'll see what
they say about pressure checking too.

Thanks

It's normal, mine is the same way and doesn't leak a drop. The line seals on the o-rings inside, so it doesn't really matter where it's at, as long as the ridge is behind the retainers so it doesn't get pushed out.
