Stepside Rims

Does anyone out there have pics of a stepside with Ridler rims (695) 18x8s for the front and 20x10s for the rear? I just placed an order for my truck but nervous about the look.

A 10" wide rear tire won't fit on a stepside without rubbing (unless you tub)

As long as the backspacing is right and you don't get the rear tire too wide, the 10" wheel will be ok. You may be limited to a 275 width tire, though.

Is that dependent on what width axle he has?

Axle doesn't matter as long as the offset is right.

On my 69 short step I have a 17x9 rear wheel with 5" backspace. I have a swapped in axle from a '72 in 5 lug. I'm running a 275 55 17 tire and have about a fingers width clearance on both inside and outside of tire. That's pretty much the limit to what fits. You might go to a 285 in a 40 series profile, but keeping the height near 29" was important to me.

My truck is dropped 7" in the rear with a DJM flip kit on the leafs.

Ran 8.5" rims all the way around with 4.75 BS, 245/45/20 on front and 275/45/20 on the rear.

I bolted these up then removed them and sold them. I now have 20" Rally wheels. On those I went 8.5" with 5.0 BS and rear 9.5" with 5.75 BS.

The wheels just came in but I'm waiting on tires. A friend said that he has the same wheels but had to modify the inside of the rear fenders.

Just put the new Rally wheels on (didn't install center caps). I am running a 9.5" wheel out back with 5.75 BS and can air it out and clear fender inside and out.

What's your axle width? Backing plate to backing plate...

And what's your tire size?

I have the 72 rear end, I can't remember the exact measurement but it's wider than the original 68. Front tires are 245/45/20, rear 275/45/20
