Updating the 72 GMC

We did this truck about 12 years ago unfortunately I over charged the battery and it leaked. We are pulling the nose off to clean and re-paint the core support, battery box and the inner fender. While we are at it I decided we would re-seal the engine and one thing lead to another. More to follow.....

Gary

I have a 72 GMC Sierra Grande.
Whenever I see anything "big" that needs to be done,
I just think to myself . . . ."next owner's problem" !
Good luck !

This is our second FAST EZ EFI install. The first one was on my 1966 Buick Skylark with a 400. We love it.

Re: Updating the 72 GMC

I thought about going with a hydro-boost just so the brake master cylinder wouldn't stick so far out from firewall like it does with the stock booster. Are those brackets behind the hydro-boost needed like that? If so, I am probably going to scrap the idea.

I'm thinking about using a Corvette master cylinder with a 1" bore for disc/drum and just bolt it to the firewall.

the hydro-boost can be mounted at the firewall. there is a couple of ways to mount it,

Re: Updating the 72 GMC

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think that the master is a CPP piece based on the little sticker/logo on the prop valve. The masters come unpainted. I know because I just painted my new one after reading the printed color page included with it that tells you to paint it before you install it because if not it WILL rust. lol.

I reckon we will. We installed the Hotchkis front control arms and spring yesterday. Really nice kit BTW. I'll post pics later today. BTW I have the stock a-arms and after market sway bar if anyone close to me is in need.
