Cool Mirrors West Coast Style

3 Attachment(s)
I came across mirrors on a 70's Square Body truck that I know were not original to the truck because there were other mounting holes on the truck. With that said, I am trying to learn more about these mirrors and whether they were original to possibly some other 60's truck.

I was able to find an image of a similar/same on Google but there wasn't a caption under it. At one time, there appears to have been some yellow paint on the back side but the previous owner scraped/sanded it off. The mounting brackets appear to be the same as the one I found -- Google image.

Any information is greatly appreciated

The bottom image is the Google image that I found

Those mirrors are manufactured by Retrac. They were available as a factory approved accessory for all makes of trucks dating back to the early 60's. They are commonly specified on Fire apparatus and Government vehicles. They are retracable, thru a unique spring loaded nut and bolt and made out of light weight aluminum. The yellow "chevrons" serve as a reflective safety devices for high visability.

The mirrors that I have, if I recall correctly, indicate Donald Labaty, Monrovia CA.

I wonder if they were a Retrac Vendor at one time?
