69 C30 gas tank drain?
 

I am getting ready to go to retreive my 69 C30. had it running a few years ago, but want to R&R the gas. Looking online and searching here it looks like the tank is behind the seat and does not have a drain, correct? Plan on draining, adding a little back, drain again then install a filter between tank and fuel pump. We we started it before did not drain, just added to what was there, flushed the line to make sure it flowed and the truck started right up afte sitting for 10 years. Would not idle, so will replace the carb with a good one.

No drain. Use either an electric fuel pump with a line down the filler or an air powered (safer) siphon as presented in the FSM.
Plan on pulling the tank and sender for sure. It will take more than a casual fill and dump IMHO. Plan on replacing the sock/filer if the not the sender assembly due to crud and corrosion.

My IHC needed several applications with a pressure washer just to start moving the gunk out and into our enviro sump at work.

With a filter at the tank in front of an electric pump and another before the mechanical pump it worked out well for years.

Smelling the gas that's still in the tank will tell you the most about potentially having rotten gas...
If there's even a hint of rotten smelling gas, get as much of the old gas out as possible!

You can look on the filler neck and sending unit hole w/ flashlight to get an idea of condition of inside of tank, you never know...
