Hinge help !

Need help on hinge rebuild (72 suburban doors)There is a lot of info on hinges , specifically seized pins.I managed to remove my pins (heat helped) but neglected to do anything about the wear in the friction mechanism pin. This play gives an undesired effect when opening the doors. My plan was to remove the small pin and enlarge the hole in the hinge/friction bar to eliminate the slack. Problem is ,I can not drive out the old pin. What is it? A roll pin? Has anyone ever removed or drilled out this pin? I dont want to make a mess of the hinge with a broken drill in the hole ! Thanks for your help !

Re: Hinge help !

On my 71 C10 they were roll pins. I just kept spraying them with "PB Blaster". Used a harbor freight Phillips screwdriver... (cheap) that I cut the tip off and fit the hole and they tapped right out with a hammer after a couple of days soaking. One of the plates had notched the roll pin so I had to make sure it was not catching on the roll pin before I taped on it. Hope this helps some.
