truck stance tire and wheel sizes
I'm looking for some information on the max tire/wheel size I can get under my 79 K5. Any info on offsets and sizes would be helpful. The truck is lowered however no c-notch as
of yet..... |

How much is it lowered? That matters a lot regarding max tire size. Are you running inner fenders?

just got the truck and it has 3" spindles in the front currently has 15" on it and they rub on the lower a arm in tight turns. yes there are inner fenders. im think 20's or 22's

I have found a c-notch from Crown suspension have you heard for this company? or have a suggestion?

I had 275/40/20's under mine with a notch and I was pretty low before we started to cut it apart for bags.. I was tucking tire so without a notch you should be able to do a pretty good size tire.

Since you live in Chandler, if you want help with a static set-up, you are welcome to come by my shop in Gilbert on a day I drive it (like tomorrow) or reply with a direct message and come out to my house in Mesa to see what I have done. I know that was a tricky thing for me to figure out, but I am very happy with how it worked. No notch and it does not hit either.

Since you are so close in Chandler, you can come out to my shop in Gilbert on a day that I drive it to work and check it out. I will have it tomorrow, but days will be limited with the temps rising. Static drop, no notch and never hits either. 10" rear with 5.25" back - 295 wide tire. 8" front with 4" back - 255 wide tire.

Pretty sure I used Western spindles (maybe 2.5" or 3") plus a 1-2" spring and then just messed with the spring to cut it down to exactly how I wanted it. I am pretty sure I pulled it apart 2-3 times to make it look exactly how I wanted it to. The final time was a 3/8" adjustment and that made it perfect as far as I was concerned. There is some science to it I suppose, but being able to dial it in was not too much work, but gave me what I wanted. Rear was just a 3" de-arching of the springs at a spring shop.

No, and the beauty of that method is that it allows you to dial in the drop. If your spring set is off 1/4" one side to the other, you can have the spring shop fix it. Getting a "new" spring gets you a drop in terms of inches, but you really have no basis as a starting point since the truck is 35-40 years old. De-arching solves that. I did it to a 2wd Blazer I had 20+ years ago and drove it daily for 12 years, pulled a 21' boat with it and had no issues, ever. Don't be scared - figure out how much to take out of each side and have them done. You will impress yourself with the results!

Bringing this back up. Thinking about running Torq Thrust II 18" wheels on my factory 2WD 78 Blazer...
