1977 Interior Door Panel question.
I need a new pair of interior door panels for my '77. Who makes the best reproductions out there? It has the originals but the drivers side top is just plain worn out. I have heard good things as well as horror stories, Do I hold out for gennies or are there reproductions that are close? Interior color is black. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would say LMC. I got some for my 86, but the description says the same for 77-87. They are direct replacements, not reproduction, so all your old hardware will fit. I could not tell a difference with mine, I was very happy with them. Fit was perfect and all the hardware fit like they said it would, although I got new hardware. My original interior color was maroon but I wanted to change everything to grey/charcoal. So at first I dyed my original panels, that's why my armrests are a bit darker. I got some grey dye recently, so I'm going to re-dye them to match the new panels.
Here's a pic of mine. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=68 |
Re: 1977 Interior Door Panel question.
Unless LMC changed vendors for the 77's, they fit like crap. I gave mine away and found a pair of originals at the junk yard. Just dyed them to match the interior. Still on there 9 years later. I called LMC and told them what I thought about the panels. Maybe they did something about the situation.
