Gel-Coat

You could paint it like sheet metal, but you might get better results going to a boat shop and getting (white?) gel coat. It's a kind of epoxy stuff for fiberglas. You may have to do a light sanding so the paint takes. I looked into it but havn't done it myself so I'm only the armchair expert here. Maybe someone with actual hands-on can jump in here.:gmc:

I work with polyester gelcoat quite abit in fiberglass boat repairs . If you have never worked with gelcoat I would recommend you go with an epoxy primer and just paint it.
You can spray gelcoat on if its prepped right but you need to put wax additives in and thin with styrene and add 2% hardner and I also use a speed patch additive up to 30% after all that use small batches so that it doesn"t kick off in your gun, I use a cheap gravity feed gun from harbor freight just clean it out good with acetone. Hope this helped My 2cents
