Hood Shaking

For some reason, the hood on my 52 shakes while driving. It shakes on both sides, near the cowl.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this? Do the springs need to be replaced or does the hood need to be aligned better?

I'll take a pic of the hood alignment tonight and post it.

Yes, post photos including from an angle to show how tight the hood is against the cowl. Realistically the springs help you open the hood, that is all they do.

The driver's side is what appears to be the most off.

Ha! I wouldn't say that 400hp is too much but it sure is fun with such little weight and 215 rear tires!

I do see a 76mm turbo in my future though 😏

Your way out of adjustment on the hinges and not down on the anti squeak rubber. It is possible that its worn hinges but most likely just adjustments.

You can follow these instructions http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...51ctsm1104.htm or stop by the shop and we'll show you how to do it

Yeah, that was weird, I see them now. Everything from Photobucket, yours and others were all messed up and not showing the photo, odd.

Anyway, yes, the hood simply has to go down in the back, a lot. The problem is, there is a big dance when doing these hoods. The fenders could be up too high too so that hood can't even go down. It looks like there is room but we would need more photos, ones showing the lower edge of the hood to the fenders.

They are not easy to align, they often take movement all over the place to make them fit. But going down is most certainly needed.
