I know. I've had it happen to me.
The key phrase is: "I'll take it"
I've asked how much is shipping, and lost it to a person after me for saying the magic words: "I'll take it"
I can't really blame the seller though.
There are so many 'tire kickers' - whether here or on Craigslist. So, if the seller holds it for the 'interested' who later becomes uninterested, he could lose a sell.
