amp gauge

I have a 1982 c 20 and the amp gauge has not worked since I purchased it . Could it be as simple as a bad gauge ? or is there a common problem with these .

Re: amp gauge

The Ammeter was used from 1973-1975. Are you sure you have an ammeter in a 1982?

Re: amp gauge

Easy enough to troubleshoot.
Pull the gauge out of the bucket without removing the bucket from the dash and check for volts with a meter across the clips.

No volts = bad power or ground to that gauge.
Volts = bad gauge.
