Sanded & Polished my vent window frames today

My black frames were looking pretty weathered so I decided to sand away the paint ( or maybe it was black anodizing ). Started with 220 grit, then 400, then 600, then 1200 ( hardware store didn't carry 800 or 1000 ) then hit it with metal polish. Did it all by hand with the vent still installed in the doors. Dremel tool probably would have worked best. Wouldn't call it show quality ( crevices are a pain ) but I would say very nice driver quality. It should hold me off for a while until I feel like spending $400 or $500 to have them redone in chrome.

Maybe I should have started at 80 grit. At least 75% of my time was devoted to the 220 grit. Once I was done with that, the rest was a breeze.

You would have spent more time getting the 80 grit scratches out. I usually start with 180, 220, etc. Nice job.
