Re: Old school turbine wheels

Are these 9" inside the beads? Is the size stamped into the wheel on back? Maybe since they are 6-lug it limits the buyers some. I bet a Blazer/Jimmy owner would like to have these. I'd buy them if I had any use at all for them.

Re: Old school turbine wheels

It is not stamped on the back, I am going to get the tire dismounted so I can ge accurate numbers for anyone with interest

A lot of aftermarket wheels will have the dimensions in the rim barrel. Did you dismount? Keep bumping and someone with classy taste will swoop them up. I swear a K/5 guy should want these. They sure go ape over Hickey stuff, as if that was all there was back in the day. A lot more to it than Hickey, and a guy who loaded up with Hickey doo-dads would as likely be running these as any other of the few choices available back in the day. Not to mention, good lookin' wheel right there! $300 seems to be the fair price cap on these vintage beauties, and all others such as slots. These were never polished and can be cleaned right back to like new with wheel cleaner and some scuffing up. Yep, won't hurt them a bit. No clear coat and not polished, so elbow grease will do the trick...even steel wool if you want to clean deep. I had another style on my '90 Blazer for a throw-back look on a body that went back to '73. Als ran a set on my '72 K2500 for a while. A member here, Dean, has a beautiful '71 or '72 K/10 with these. One of the best looking LWB 2-tone Cheyenne Supers on the site

I bet if they were 5 lug those Duke boys would have snagged them up. :)

Re: Old school turbine wheels

Sometimes a sale is all about the presentation. Actual specs on the wheels, width and backspacing would be really helpful. Personally I really like them, but I think you have a limited audience with that design. If they were slotted mags they would have been gone already. I don't think the price is too bad, but when you toss shipping on there (you know the drill).

 Wrong pattern. They were dumb on Dodge ;) There's were more like mine I showed. The fine finned ones are like what was on the Mako Shark prototype and early Sting Ray knock-offs (meaning no lug nuts)

Re: Old school turbine wheels

Your right presentation is the key but time is a factor in getting those old tires removed right now ;) If they were old school slots I wouldn't have them on here. :chevy:

Yeah wasn't meant to be taken literally. ;)

Okay I have had the tires removed they are definitely 9" with a 3 1/2" backspacing, as of right now I will not ship but you can pick the m up locally or you can come see me at Carlisle in August they will be there with me if they do not sett locally first. Also I do have a set of chrome centers for them but they are for 4x4 closed rear caps and open front caps ;)
