Soften my K20 ride
I have a '82 k20 that is on a '74 k30 frame and leaf springs. I put on some Rancho 9000 shocks and that helped a lot. I am wondering if I went to the ORD greaseable poly spring eye thingies &hangers on all the leaf springs that that might give some more flex. Don't want to soften it a whole bunch just a bit more. Or, do I have to do like custom springs?? Truck feels great w/a load.

Re: Soften my K20 ride
Sell it and buy a brand new truck.
New lift springs are probably a good upgrade, buy the softest you can. ORD bushings and new shackles did nothing to soften the rider on my lifted K5, dont imagine they would do any thing for your k20. |
Re: Soften my K20 ride
I have been trying to find ways to soften my ride as well but its proving to be challenging to find much that works. I also put Rancho 9000's on, it seemed to help some.
There is a guy here that recently put 64" springs on his truck from a newer truck, he said it helped quite a bit. I'd like to try it once I have some time and money. |
Re: Soften my K20 ride
Softest riDE is the 52 and 64 spring swaps, but can be very labor intensive as you have to grind off brackets and bolt new ones up. Ive heard good on bilstein shocks being soft... also softer springs will help too if set on redoing the suspension. Just depends on how far ya want to get into it.

Re: Soften my K20 ride
I think I will work with ORD and get new springs and hangers all around.
Thanks, Will let you know how it goes. |
