Possible that CPP shipped wrong sway bar..????

2 Attachment(s)
Wondering if anyone has a tape measure handy and can measure how wide their sway bar is..??

I bought a CPP 7423 heavy duty sway bar. when I went to install it it looks way to small and wouldn't match up to the mounting points on my porterbuilt lower control arms.

The sway bar is only about 41" wide and the porterbuilt mounting spots are about 47" apart.

The sway bar has a the right part number on the plastic wrapping but I'm thinking they made a mistake.

Can anyone measure how wide their sway bar is.?

Ken, my CPP sway bar measured 40" center to center of mounting holes. Fit my '69 C10 stock A-arms almost perfect.

My guess would be that most cpp items don't interchange with porterbuilt, but like I said thats just a guess

Thanks Ron mine is about the same size...wonder if porterbuilt needs a custom sway bar to fit. That's not good.!

It's a pretty standard sway bar...but yeah porterbuilt does tend to do their own thing...without telling anyone..!!

You are right, Nate just responded that they make their own bar for $289...vs $99 for the same diameter CPP bar.

Quite a few hidden surprises using Porterbuilt stuff..! A lot of delays/late shipments/wrong shipments/extra parts needed/lack of info.

Very hard to compare prices going in without knowing all these things. I wanted the 1" forward lower arms but with all the other hassles and add-ons it cost quite a lot more than other alternatives and the delays added by using them put me way behind. Frustrating when I get a weekend free then find I've got the wrong parts or need something in addition. Then get new parts and another weekend and get another surprise.

Can someone possibly post some pictures of their CPP front sway bar installed? I ordered one and it's not fitting like I would like. Did you guys have to mount the front brackets closer to the back than the factory mounting position? Where do they mount to the factory a-arms?

Does anyone have any installation recommendations for the CPP sway bar? Do the front mounts need to be slid back and holes drilled for them? Do you utilize one of the two holes in the a-arm to install the bolt with rubber bushings?
