Pneumatic Tool Help
Hello everyone.
I have several impact 'guns', air ratchets and an air chisel. All given to me by my dad. Unfortunately, they no longer work but I want to get them back up and running for obvious reasons. Not sure what is wrong with them. Anyone aware of companies where I can send these off to for repair? Some of the brands are Rodac and Pittsburg. Any feedback from others that have sent off their tools for repair? Thanks in advance. |
Re: Pneumatic Tool Help
You might do a web search with your city and some keywords...
Air tools need oiled everytime you use them. Many say oil daily. If you ran them dry, its a bad sign. |
Re: Pneumatic Tool Help
Not sure about rodac or pitts but higher end tool makers will rebuild some tools..ours at work get done frequently..you might check directly with them..

Re: Pneumatic Tool Help
pittsburg is the old harbor fright brand, not worth anything other than throwing in the trash can
most air tools don't wear out, just need new o-rings and oil i'd try oil first, there's a reason it says oil daily |
Re: Pneumatic Tool Help
Oil is important, but if the tools sit form years, that same oil can gum up. You may only need to dissemble, clean, oil, and reassemble.
Look on Ebay and Amazon for rebuild kits. Most cheaper air tool are fairly universal. I still have my old Chicago Pneumatic impact gun I got due to a broken hammer set. A $12 flea market kit and it 's been running for 27 years. |
