New Holley carb, gas leak at fuel inlet

This is the second fuel rail I've tried....the first wasn't long enough between the two threaded inlets, and now this one is just barely wide enough being adjustable, but still leaks and I used good thread tape. Any ideas? It's a brand new Holley 650 double pumper, I don't see why the right pets don't just work, but I could be wrong about the parts.

These are the two I tried so far. I know I know, I bought a totally bad a$$ carb and then cheaper out on the parts lol

I just did the same thing. I tried the one that you have on now and it would not stop leaking. I ordered the Holley dual line and it looked like The one that is on the left. I had to bend it a little but it sealed on the carb bowls with no Teflon tape. I had to put tape on the gauge hole and on the end to get it finally leak free.

On my Edelbrock I had the PCV in the front big port, and the trans vac in the back of the Edelbrock Intake, but the Holley hangs over that port now so I ran a T for the trans and PCV to hook into the back of the carb. Is that gonna work you think? |

Yeah I drove it and it runs great. I also took off an eldacrap 650. The Holley is a 770 street avenger. I will look and take Picts tomorrow of where I put the vac lines. I had a buddy telling me where to put them. I do remember that there is a small port on the front that was hard to see because it's under the big one. I know I hooked one of the small lines there.

First off, don't use teflon tape on flare fittings!
Makes them leak. They seal on the flare, not the threads. If you have a fitting that doesn't seal well, then you gotta move a little metal. Snug it up, back it off, snug it up a little further, back it off again and then snug it up a little further yet. The flare heats up a little and the mating surfaces seat togethor. You might need to do it several times. We used to call that 'lapping'! |

I did not use tape on the flares just where the gauge would go and on the end where the supplied bung goes in to the fuel line.

Teflon tape on flare fitting serves no purpose, but I can't imagine it'd =cause= the leak unless it was preventing tightening down the tube nut, right?

I got the correct Holley fuel rail and that's working great. The other one just wasn't linking up right so it leaked like a doc. But now it won't start...could you guys check out that new thread and see if you can help me figure this out? I'm stumped
