72 C10 Engine ID

Just bought truck and am trying to figure out if it has 307 or 350 engine. How can I tell?

Your best bet would be finding the casting numbers on the block.

If your VIN # has the letter ( E ) and SPID label in the glove box does not list the 350 or the 396 engine, you have the standard Eight cyl engine, the 307.

Also I'm pretty sure the 350 should have a 4 bbl carb, and the 307 will have a 2 bbl standard.
