Upper A-Arm Mounting Bracket

2 Attachment(s)
Hello,

First time user to the forums. I have started my restoration of a 1969 Chevy C10 Fleetside truck and ran into my first snag. My first project is to rebuild and powder coat my front suspension. During disassembly I found a broken RH upper a-arm mounting bracket. This is the bracket that is bolted and riveted to the chassis and not easily removed. Someone who owned the truck previously had damaged one of the studs that the upper a-arm control arm mounts to. Whoever repaired this bracket did a horrible job by cutting a larger hole in the bracket where the stud came through, drilled a new hole through the entire frame, and placed a longer bolt and LOTS of washers in order for the a-arm control arm to mount to it. I have attached two pictures of the bracket that I need. I have already removed the bracket but I am having a hard time finding a NEW replacement bracket. This is not a normal part that people replace.

Does anyone know how I can obtain a new re manufactured part? I have found a few trucks around the state that I could rob the part off of, but, I really want to buy a new part if possible.

Can anyone help?

You will have to find a good used replacement as there is no replacement part for that. You have to drill out the factory rivets to remove it or find a whole front crossmember. Reinstall with grade 8 bolts and a locknut. :chevy:

And welcome to the board

By the way, this is the projects and build section part of the forum ;)

GR8-68,

Thank you for replying. This is exactly what I figured I would need to do. I will just have to go and tear apart another trucks suspension and remove this bracket. I really didn't want to do that but it looks like that is what I must do.

Thanks again
