How rare is a three on the tree in a 72 Cheyenne Super?

I've seen posts saying "a 3 on the tree is rare in a Cheyenne Super" and "Why is it so hard to find a C10 with a manual transmission?"

So is there any way to find out how many 72 Cheyenne Supers came with a 3 on the tree?

Those records dont exist from GM. I would say its highly unusual to order the top trim package and no transmission option. Ive seen a few over the years. I definitely dont think it adds value, most likely detracts value instead

No numbers on optioned, as mentioned. But it's safe to say that is an uncommon combination. Automatics had been in trucks a while, with the TH350/400s around a good handful, so people had "warmed up" to the idea. So, the trend was shifting to a mostly automatic America. There still were those who didn't feel such options belonged in trucks, and those are most likely the owners who would want such a truck. Many felt power steering and power brakes had no place on a truck, as well.
