Anyone have any experience with this?

Thinking of ordering this air cleaner for my 1975 GMC truck. I made a dual snorkel myself last year but let's just say it isn't the best looking thing out there haha. I know this one will fit my carb, but I'm unsure of the hose that runs from the pass side valve cover to the air cleaner, and the hoses for the trap door carb pre-heater.

I haven't, but that's pretty sweet. I didn't realize anyone was making reproduction air cleaners.

It is a great looking, well made item but I had to return it because it would not fit an Edelbrock carb. It's made for a Quadrajet.

A small spacer is all that's required & it clears an HEI cap just fine. It even has a recessed area @ the rear of it for the additional clearance. We used a short aluminum spacer from a local dirt-track place (70 elcamino 350, Weiand dual plane intake, 600 vac secondary square bore Holley carb w/HEI).

To chime in.... the base itself will not fit an Eddy carb. I bought the open, chrome version which should have the same drop base. I used a 2 inch (I think, though it may have been three) air cleaner spacer - between carb and base. That worked out OK for a while but i had to grind the top a bit to clear those little alignment tabs. Again, that was OK until it got hot out. Then the spacer warped where I had to clearance it. Very, very frustrating. Opened my hood one day and the whole assembly was tilted back 20 degrees and just kind of floating on top of the carb. After searching forever for a better spacer I just ended up using the base off of an Eddy air cleaner as they had sent me a free one when I purchased my carb. No spacer needed, but the nipple that goes to the passenger valve cover was not included. I bought one, RUINED the base trying to get the knockouts out so I could install the nipple. Bought another one and just drilled holes in the knockouts.

Sorry for the long story, just want to possibly help someone out. BTW - if you use the factory air cleaner spacer with the nipple in it you should be fine. You would just have to plug it or use it and plug the nipple on the new air cleaner base. I would do that 100% if I were to do it over. Aside from the Edelbrock part costs, I ended up paying $100 for the lid, base, filter combo but only ended up using the lid itself in the long run. $100 is a lot of money for a lid!
