Were water pumps painted?
Were Chevy truck water pumps painted from the factory?
For come reason I was thinking they weren’t painted. |

They were painted

Re: Were water pumps painted?
At some point they started painting them. In the 60's and early 70's I don't believe they were painted. I'm positive that my grandfather's 1974 C10 w/350 had a raw cast iron water pump.
Maybe Keith could shed more light on this. Mike |
Re: Were water pumps painted?
I'm pretty sure production water pumps were installed during engine assembly at Flint and Tonowanda. The engine/water pump assembly were painted at the same time. I don't think service water pumps were painted.
