Stepside sport bumper brackets
 

Seems like this is a frequent question with regard to what fits or doesn't fit.

I understand a wide bed uses different brackets and filler plates.

I would also like to tuck my bumper in a little closer to the bed on the my stepside. It has what I think are the wrong brackets and only the outside ones at that.

Can I use wide bed brackets (both inner and outer) and re-drill the frame to pull in the bumper if I don't use filler plates?

Any other insight regarding the brackets themselves is appreciated.

Stepside Specific sport bumper brackets are totally different.
And unique to 73-87 stepside trucks only.
As is the stepside bumper for 73-87. (its actually the same bumper that is on the 67-72 stepside trucks)

These are one version of FLEETSIDE ONLY brackets.
There are 2 different FLEETSIDE brackets:
73-80
81-87
