tonneau cover for a step side
so I have a 86 stepside and want to put a tonneau on it. I seen some that have hook and loop (Velcro) that holds it to the side. I feel as though after undoing it after time it would loose its grip. does anyone on here know if another style off a different truck would work? I was thinking about finding one for a s10 and cutting the frame for it down then have our local tent shop cut the material down and resweing it back together in order for it to fit properly. Anyone have any ideas or input?

Re: tonneau cover for a step side
I had mine made 7 years ago by a local upholstery shop. They used good quality vinyl and snaps, yes, the snaps are held to my bed rails with rivets. The front of the cover slides into an aluminum track. Fiberglass bows keep the cover from collapsing in the rain. I take the cover off in the winter and store it inside, by winter I mean consistent temps in the 30-40 degree range.
I had a velcro cover on another truck, waste of money, at least mine was a waste. |
