I looked at that truck this spring at a little cruise night. Talked to the kid that had it. Great story and a very neat original truck

I have my opinion, but:

I wouldn't do anything "non-reversible"

Nice truck...very nice.
I'm liking those short/stepsides more and more lately.
As for lowering it, I''m in alignment with Special-K on this...'its your thing, do what you wanna do'...lol, but don't do anything you can't undo.
How about a 2/3 drop?....that way you don't have to start troubleshooting driveline and steering problems that always seem to go hand in hand with the larger drops.

Again....nice truck,

Coley

That's a gorgeous truck, really nice to see, and thanks for posting so many photos. While I can't argue against going to disk brakes, I'm with those who say not to change it, just because it is such a period piece.

Was..........a period piece.........not that it can't be again, at least he didn't cut it up......yet.

Cool! Radio delete, three on the tree! These days that can be considered an antitheft device. You didn't mention what you do for work. In a previous life I never could of considered a lowered truck as a work truck, but now days I have a lowered work truck. Just depends on ones point of view.

I like it. I like it even better lowered, and I'm sure I'll love it with the new wheels.

Funny how every time an "original" truck comes up, everyone comes out of the woodwork to tell the owner to preserve it, but yet no one ever offers to save the truck from being "cut up." Just like I'm not offering to pay for the changes that I would make if it were my truck. The OP didn't ask for opinions, so I won't add mine to the list.

I'll just say enjoy it however you see fit. Drive it, build it, wrench on it, park it, show it off, hide it in a barn, drive it off a cliff, cut up the frame, remove the wheel wells, LS swap it, restore it, make it long bed, chop it, take its virginity... :)

Just have fun with it! Great truck! Jealous.

I'd like those stock wheels to be in my garage.
Truck looks very nice. I'm really surprised Joe didn't buy it when he saw it!
I guess he really likes the longbeds and 4x4s. lol
Oh, and a 2K mile SWB too!
